First, my name is Cristóbal
Mansilla. I’m from Chile, and now I live in Santiago of Chile, the capital of
the country. I was born in Fresia, a little city next to Pto. Montt, and I live
there all my life, but I change to study Biochemistry in the University of
Chile. I’m a real fan of the science, and now I have the possibility of to go ahead
with my curiosity and, in a couple of years, work in that. My interest in the
science includes the biology of the living beings to the chemistry behind that
life. But I like a lot of other things, like the literature; my favorite book
is “The catcher in the rye”, because I’m amazed of the talent of JD Salinger
(the author) of describe and write the story of an adolescent with a beautiful timelessness.
Of course, I have other hobbies like cycling and watch movies and series.
The science, a big word. That it's all. The science it's, from the beggining, the true behind all we can see. I think that it's the main reason of study biochemistry. But not always was to study Biochemistry. When I was a child, my dream was to be an astronaut; that is so cliche, but I like the idea of explore the universe, know things about our origin. When I was in High School, my dream changed, now I wanted to be a doctor, I like the idea of help the people, study the human body, study the life, the anatomy of the body. In the last year of High School, everything change; I understand the reality of be a doctor; and I don't like it. So, I have a year for find my road. I just know one thing; I like science. What can I study in science? My favourite subject in the high school was biology, second; the chemistry. What I do in that? Suddenly, all was clear. I met biochemistry.
